How to downgrade my psp

Problem:

i dnt know ho to dow grade my psp how can i do this

Solution
:
  1. Dangers of downgrading
  2. Know that downgrading your PSP voids the warranty and can be quite dangerous to your hardware.
  3. Downgrading often requires upgrading: You can only use a downgrader that goes from one firmware version to another, so most users will need to update their PSP to at least version 2.0 (USA) in order to then downgrade it to 1.5 or 1.0.
Find your firmware
  1. Determine which version of the PSP operating system you are currently running:
    1. Navigate to the main menu on your PSP.
    2. Select Settings -> System Settings -> System Information.
    3. Look for System Software Version X.XX. Where X.XX is the version number of your PSP firmware.
    4. Now you will know which downloader and/or updater you will need.
      • Note that any version greater than 1.51 will prevent you from running Homebrew and other independent applications.
Use the tools
  1. Be aware that your firmware updater and associated tools are located on the Memory card.
  2. Know that there are many tools to downgrade your PSP, depending on the version number of your firmware:
    1. Version 2.0 and 2.01 can be downgraded with Easy Downgrader.
    2. Versions 3.0 to 3.03 can be downgraded [here]
    3. Search Google for other downgraders.
The .tiff image hack
  1. Be aware that the hack below is dangerous. The developers who first found this hack bricked-up (destroyed) 6 PSP units before they got it working. A single miss-step can brick your machine and make it the most expensive coaster available. Please use at your own risk. These instructions will, however, technically allow you to downgrade any PSP that can display .tiff images.
  2. Know that this process is for downgrading from 2.0 to a lower version. If you have a higher version you will need different software, and if you are running 1.51 or 1.52 you will need to upgrade to 2.0 before you can downgrade to 1.5
  3. Download the original 1.50 EBOOT updater, version 1.5
  4. Download MPHDowngrader. Be absolutely sure it is version 1.0.0.
  5. Connect your PSP to your PC via USB cable.
  6. Go to the directory /PSP/GAME/ on your memory stick.
  7. Create a sub-directory named UPDATE which must be in uppercase.
  8. Obtain the EBOOT.PBP file from the updater.
  9. Copy the downloaded PBP file into the UPDATE directory.
  10. Download the MPHDowngrader and unzip the program.
    • Inside the package you will find a Photo folder with an image inside named overflow.tif.
  11. Drop overflow.tif into your /PSP/PHOTO/ folder.
  12. Place both h.bin and index.dat in the root of your Memory Stick.
  13. Disconnect your PSP from your computer and plug in the AC adapter.
  14. Navigate to Photo and then Memory Stick via the PSP's menu system and start scrolling down through your photos until you reach the overflow.tif picture.
  15. Everything will freeze, the screen will turn black and fuzzy white text will appear.
    • If your PSP freezes without going to this black text screen, then hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the PSP shuts down, then hit the power button again to start it back up. Repeat this step until you get that black screen.
  16. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the PSP powers off.
  17. Hit the power button again. Your PSP will start up.
    • Navigate to your System Information, and you'll discover that your PSP thinks it is running version firmware 1.0. It isn't, gthough, and you cannot yet run Homebrew.
  18. Navigate to Game -> Memory Stick, hit the X button, and navigate to the 1.5 updater.
    • Make sure you have your PSP plugged in or the upgrade won't work.
  19. Click the X button and update like you normally would. At the end of the upgrade you will receive an error saying that the upgrade failed and to contact Sony. Ignore this and again force your PSP to power off and reboot.
    • After the PSP reboots, you will receive an error screen in multiple languages. Find your language and read the corresponding line. It notes that your preferences are lost and that you need only hit the O button to restore some default settings.
  20. Hit the O button.
  21. The PSP will start back up and you will go through the initial setup like the day when you first bought your PSP. Do so and then go to the system info pane again, where you will see that you are running version 1.5.
  22. Run homebrew at will.

[edit] Tips
  • For a new firmware version to be downgradable crackers first have to decrypt any new security or authentication measures, and then create a downloader. This can take some time and is a process of constant change as new versions are released. If you attempting to downgrade a fully updated or brand new PSP you will need to work with the latest version of the firmware, current version 3.5 in the USA.
  • Downgrade Your Psp to Version 1.5 just Using Your Psp Battery

[edit] Warnings
  • There are many web sites out there that will sell you videos or instructions, but beware, the information is available and the tools needed are free or shareware.
  • Do this at your own risk. This technique was created by modders and might not be 100 percent reliable. It may also void the warranty for your PSP.
  • Anti-virus scanner and software will often identify PBP as potentially malicious. You may need to temporarily disable these security measures to obtain the updates.

[edit] Things You'll Need
  • PSP
  • USB cable
  • Microsoft Windows ™ computer with usb support
  • Internet connection

How to downgrade my psp

Problem:

i dnt know ho to dow grade my psp how can i do this

Solution
:
  1. The easiest thing to do is buy a Pandora Battery (~$10). Then you need a Magic Memory stick which you can easily make (type it on YouTube). And you can downgrade any Firmware, and it automatically installs custom firmware, which you can play ISO/CSO games!
  2. If you create a pandora battery BE CAREFUL! EVERY TIME YOU BOOT THE SYSTEM ON WITH THE PANDORA BATTERY YOU WILL GET THE SCREEN TO FLASH THE SYSTEM! YOU HAVE TO TURN IT ON WITH THE WALL CAHRGER THEN PUT THE BATTERY IN! BE SURE TO GET A NEW BATTERY BEFORE CREATING THE PANDORA BATTERY!
  3. you can buy or create a Pandora battery/ Datel tool battery.

Cannot Enable WMA Playback

Problem:

I saved my MP3 files on the memory stick and when I try to play them on my PSP it says that the WMA Playback is not enable. When I follow the instructions to enable it, it trys to connect to the wireless internet.

Is there a way to enable the WMA Playback without going online with my PSP or am I not downloading the music to my PSP properly?

Solution
:
  1. go to recover menu [when switching on the psp hold the R button] do to "registry hack" or something similar choose "activate WMA playback" or something similar and activate by pressing the X button.
  2. i have found a idea if you like convert your wma files from searching in www.google.com to mp3 then try
  3. what ever you do, DO NOT RESET SETTINGS cause then you just have to reset them and it wont do you any good. I had the same problem. The most lodgicall way to solve this is just to spend like 3 bucks at mcdonalds and get the wifi so you can play online multiplayer, go on the internet, and fix the wma feature. Or you could just free load off of a friends wifi or wirless setup. But you may have to enter a security code.
  4. as of now, there is no way to enable WMA playback without wireless internet. but it is not as far away as you think! in fact, most McDonald's have free wifi! as for your mp3 problem, try reverting it to factory setting, under system menu i think..
  5. i just had the same problem! i have the best solution! First:
    1. go to settings>restore defaults
    2. then go to your songs, it should play, if it doesnt, i will slap myself
  6. bandolero: you might have the music files as .cda or sompthing they have to be .mp3 or .wma for the psp to recognise them then you might have to enable wma try it and see what happenes

PSP connection error: 80410A0B

Problem:

Hey, i have been using the internet on my psp ever day. Now, today, when i try to connect, a message comes up and says (A connection error has occured(80410A0B) Connection Name --- SSID ---. Also, the wifi light doesnt come on. Help, pleaz, im starting to have withdraw!!!!!

Solution
:
  1. its happened to my psp.
there is no solution, nothing works, updates dont work,
down grades dont work, you have to swap your psp for a new with sony, they supply them iven if you dont have warrenty
  2. First of all, psp can browse the internet with its simple browser.
BUT! What you may not know is that there is a bug where when you try to search or use a wireless lan connection (WLAN) the psp may say something like:

    Internal Error
    (80410A0B)

To fix this without any memory loss, take out the UMD which is in the psp, and also take out the memory card.
Next, go to settings, then system settings and click restore settings, the psp may freeze up, but it is not broken, take out the batter pack and put it back in, the settings should be restored and all should work.
Sony hotlines dont seem to tell you how to fix it, many people often go buy a new or swap their psps, but all you need to do is this!
  3. go to system settings restore default settings it always works for mechek if your proxy server is on if it is on turn it off i had the same problem with mine, to turn it off you go to the web browser, then tools, then settings then proxy server setings and set it on do not use.

Can't find AOSS Button in psp

Problem:

It asks me to press and hold the Aoss Button but I'm not sure were it is.

Solution
:
  1. AOSS (AirStation One-Touch Secure System) is a system by Buffalo Technology which allows a secure wireless connection to be set up with the push of a button. Recent AirStation residential gateways incorporate a button on the unit to let the user initiate this procedure. I think you have to purchase a Buffalo AirStation Router in order to connect your psp. Google "aoss psp". Hope this helped.

Psp "R" Button problem

Problem:

My "R" button on my psp wont work, it's like stuck or something, when im playing a game like ape escape, the r button is to crouch and im always crouching cause of the r button.

Solution
:
  • You will have to open up your PSP to get to the contacts of the R button.
  1. REmove the battery
  2. Remove 4 screws from battery compartment
  3. Remove 1 screw from front edge under the PSP logo.
  4. Remove 2 screws from back on opposite side of battery.
  5. Lift the faceplate from the edge above the LCD slightly.
  6. Lift the front faceplate edge under the Home/Start button.
  7. You need to be very protective of the little screw hole that is under the PSP logo of the Faceplate..
  8. Do not touch the LCD screen if you can help it. If you do use a lint free cloth and windex glas cleaner to remove fingerprints and lint. Same thing for faceplate window.
  9. REmove the R button
  10. lift the rubber pad/frame behind the R button straight up.
  11. Clean the back of the rubber piece with a Q-tip and Rubbing alcohol.
  12. Clean the contact pad that is behind the rubber pad/frame.
  13. Press the rubber/fram piece back into place carefully.
  14. Put your R button back on.
  15. Be sure your LCD sreen and inside of faceplate window are clean.
  16. Refit the faceplate.
  17. Reinstall screws.
  • my psp had fallen of the table, and i had turned the psp on to see if it was okay, i was playing MPO and i found that my R button was pushed in...so i got on here to see for help, and i saw the comment for instructions on how to open the case and clean it out, i was about to do that, but luckly i kept reading, and saw comment number 7...i had done what he said, push the buttom up and down kinda hard, in a pattern, my R buttom worked normally again =D

WIFI does not work: internal error 00000001

Problem:

i have been using my psp wifi for a while now and suddenly when i tried to use the wifi (scanning for access points) it said 'internal error 00000001' i tried to change some settings but it was always the same (unless it said the wlan is not turned on) i really like using the wifi on psp especially when i need to use msn and there is no computer.

Solution
:
  1. I can't believe people still don't know:
error 0000001 = No access point in range.
It states it clearly on the PSP web site, and in their forums.
Or you could read the updated manual !
  2. go to internet browser enter a website you want to go on and then scan for wireless connections and save 1 and just select it to connect to the web. Dont do it through infrastructure mode under internet settings
  3. this is a common problem after updating to 3.7x firmware.

Just wait until sony updates the firmware again to fix the problem...

this error will report when there is no access point detected when scanning for new access points.
